What feature do you wish your Prius had?

I like the idea of jumping to the head of the line after a Prius MVA. This seems quite fair and appropriate.

Some ideas above are outside the realm of possible. This seems especially doable.

I miss the sunroof I had with my Saturn. I believe it helps cool the car down after being shut up on a hot day. Can also be romantic on a star filled night.

 

Yeah, my Aiwa did that too. Was in combination with the power button. To turn it off, you held the power button for 2 seconds.

 

1. The climate controls should all stay exactly as they were set before the car was shut off (as it is, if left in "defrost" and "recirculate" before powering down, it will switch to "outside air" at the next power up).

2. the "wash and wipe" setting for the rear window should be adjacent to "off", the same arrangement as for the front window. As it is you have to go through the wipe settings to get to "wash and wipe". (Sure, one can "wash" and then go through "off" to a wipe setting, but it's an additional action and a pointless annoyance.)

3. A way for the user to adjust the steering wheel indicator brightness other than asking a dealer to do it with a scanner.

 

As I stated elsewhere, I drove my first 150 miles in Prius today...

So here is my only wish so far: I wish that Toyota modified the shift lever so when you want to go forward you would shift UP, and when you want to go backwards you would shift DOWN. I can't believe that in Prius you have to do it backwards - against common sense and standards used by the industry for 100+ years.

I almost ended up in my driveway ditch today because of this nonsense.

to go forward it's been down or back on every auto tranny I can think of in the auto industry since time began. The only industry to do it different is the forklift industry, where forward is up and reverse is down, or push the shift lever forward to go ahead and pull back for reverse. Most new users always comment on it.

 

I want an ejectable passenger seat and blades that come out from the hubcaps.

 

OK, here's my list too:
1) Leather interior
2) Moon roof
3) Bose stereo (not even levinson comes close)
4) Lockable glove box
5) 16" Euro wheels
6) Outside handle for hatchback
7) Inside hatchback release toggle near the gas cap release toggle
8) Change the Drive and Reverse locations for the gear shift (yes, I agree its alittle confusing; Drive should be forward and Reverse should be back)
9) Body side molding
10) Wheel well protective trim
11) Rear disk brakes
12) Nuke the gas tank bladder (great idea gone wrong)
13) Increase the illumination or intensity of the toggles/switches at night; all toggles or switches should be illuminated
14) Nuke the cold weather indicator (we already know its getting colder and 37* isnt considered cold anyway)
15) Windshield washer level indicator (current size is great but how much is left?)
16) Separate on/off switches for the rear defroster and outside rear view mirrors


On the whole, its a fine car thats helping drive positive change and is only going to get better. Is it too early to place an order for an 08?

Another poster awhile ago commented on the way the shift is down to go forward and how counter that is to the usual and at first I thought they had a point. But now that I've had my car for 3 months, I prefer it this way. Sometimes on a long downhill I'll shift into "B" and then back into "D" at the bottom of the hill. I now find the pressing down MUCH more comfortable. I guess it's more "ergonomicly" correct.

I think you may agree once you get used to it.

 

I wish my Prius had a passenger. Specifically an attractive, good-natured female passenger. Alternatively, she could drive and I'd be the passenger.

How old is your car? I haven't gone through winter yet so maybe it will be a problem when it gets colder. So far I haven't had any issues with the gas tank bladder. If it keeps gasoline vapors from forming - good. It might also reduce/eliminate the possibility of water vapor forming and potentially causing gas line freeze-ups.

Passenger seat belt warning

When I put my briefcase on the passenger seat I get an alarm (flashing icon on dash) that it hasn't put on its seatbelt. I haven't go used to it yet - it keeps catching my eye.

Padded center armrest

Someone mentioned a window arm rest. I'd be happier if the center console armrest was padded. After a 1hr drive it feels like my arm/elbow is resting on concrete. I have a mini pillow now. Other cars I've driven actually have a pad in the armrest, not just a cloth covering.
