    I doubt it. The TCH has a lock and it has SKS and it's a regular lock.


    Well... every car seat is higher than a Civic :D. (Seriously!)

    How is this "regular lock" operated? I would guess it is electronic via radio link. There is nothing wrong with this. Also note that the parking brake (dash button) is commanded electronically and implemented mechanically via an electric motor driving a mechanical lock.

    Right, assuming the TCH does have steering lock, and it's the same as the Prius with regard to the electronic push button start and the ECVT, then the lock must be electronically engaged and disengaged. Sorry, but I'm not driving in a car where an errant radio signal may lock up the steering.

    I don't care how the TCH works. Someone else brought that into the conversation. I'm just happy my Prius doesn't have an electronically controlled steering lock.

    I thought it did. I remember testing driving the TCH and going "hey.. my Prius doesn't have this!"


    not sure but it could be a prawl that locks into the rack & pinion gears to prevent it from moving.

    No doubt this hypothetical steering lock would be mechanical. The question is how the lock is engaged and disengaged.

    The distance between the posts for the front seat headrests is different from that of the back seat headrests. (Presumably to prevent you from swapping them - another ingenious Toyota safety feature?)

    Prius has no steering lock. (may have been said already)
    When the radio knobs are pushed in you can still use them with your finger tips.

    But the GM Volt and hydrogen power cars do. I know, I saw him try to plug the high-voltage plug into the hydrogen filler port :eek:

    I ran a search in this thread and didn't come up with any hits. I'm sure this has been mentioned elsewhere on the forum but anyhow...

    Here's what I found as odd and somewhat of an obscure fact. Here's a car that is supposed to be the epitome of economy. So, why is it I must purchase 3 different size windshield wipers when replacing them?:confused:

    Strange but true!:p

    The reason why the front wipers are different is because of two things (and it's not limited to the Prius, most new car designs are like that).

    - In an effort to be more aerodynamic, the windshield must be raked at a greater angle which will result in a larger windshield (and usually taller than it is wide) so to get the coverage, the driver's side wiper must be tall enough to reach near the top of the windshield when fully extended. Hence there leaves less space for the passenger side wiper (to the point where on some cars, they're angled)

    - To give the driver the greatest wipe coverage.
