Fan can draw 100 to 250 watts. Probably the biggest of all (headlight, heated seats, sound system etc).
Since "driving pattern" varies so differently, I think the efficiency of both fuel is more important than the ratio.
Thought of flying there and driving back?
Merry Christmas to you too! I will be driving and enjoying PiP for sure.
I pretty much agree with your point but want to nit pick on this. Yes, PiP has less space under the cargo floor but EPA still rated it as having...
Ok, seems like you picked the right car for your goal . Many volt owners have second car since a 4 seater compact is not enough to handle family...
First, PiP battery holds about 1/10th of energy in a gallon of gas. Second, when ICE is run, about 30% of energy get into the battery. The rest...
I have waited with heated seats on. If the windows fog up so what. I would not turn on the cabin heat unless someone in the backseat needs heat.
He said he was waiting for his wife. Sure, he could drive in circle but that's more wasteful.
What temp did you set at? Auto? I think I set mine at 68 or 70 deg F. That was before outside temp dipped. Maybe my PiP would cycle ICE the same...
You get cabin heat now and propel the car (later from battery).
If you left it in EV mode, ICE won't cycle until coolant hits 80 deg F. I have seen it that low when I was in Eco.
Good catch jimbo. Nothing gets disconnected, even in Neutral. No clutch and very simple.
62 deg F today. Did my 9.9 miles morning trip. Display said 3.5 miles remaining. It is raining and I drove slower. Max speed I reached was...
Just let it glide. If you throttle a little, gas engine makes about 5-7 kw. Per the BSFC engine map, that is not an ideal efficiency. Ideal is...
A lot of power would be drawing from the HV battery above 46 mph. It would put more stress (charge/recharge cycles) on the battery and may not...
You only had your PiP for 6+ months? Nice data. 1/3 EV and 2/3 HV for you so far. Gas efficiency with winter is 50 MPG. You EV efficiency is...
