45-50 mpg in a MN winter seems pretty darn optimistic. I highly doubt a Gen2 can do that. (unless is it driven only longer distances on warmer days)

I think a very good rule of thumb for you would be to use your EV on the 8 miles of streets (16 miles total) and HV on the freeway. Switching...
But if you are in the market for a Prius...why would you not pay just a little bit more and get a PiP?
