I went ahead and submitted the inquiry to Yakima. Haven't heard anything yet..

Also I was recently in Canada and I saw several of the EVO gen 5's with the racks on them. Didn't get to get a close look though...

People I got some news! Thule now appears to have fitted a rack to the 2023 Prius. It claims to NOT have a rack fitted to the 2023 Prius Prime, but I am fairly sure that the bodies are identical (I have a Prime XSE). Also, it seems to me a glass roof should not be a problem. The entirety of the sides of my roof are metal - and that is the only place where the clamps are in contact with the car. I am curious if you think there would be any other potential problem with a glass roof.

See here! The product will apparently be available on Sept. 11. If you look for racks for the 2023 Prius, this kit is listed with the Wingbar Evo, Wingbar Edge, and SquareBar Evo,

Question from someone that's never had to order crossbars. All I need is to order one set of custom bar mounts in addition to the crossbars I want that are compatible correct?

Nope it looks like you need the bars, the clamps, and the "fit kit" that has not yet been released.
Just go to the Thule website and put in your car's info, the website will tell you what you need.

Any idea if the clamps lock into the gutters, my preference by far, or will they need to go into the door frames?

Went kayaking the other day, and would much prefer to use the Prius for these trips, vs our ~20mpg Murano. :|

I have all the Thule parts for the roof rack besides the fit kit. Whoever gets the fit kit and installed on their Prius please post pics and your review of them. I am patiently waiting.

I really want to get the Seasucker Mini Bomber for my new Glass roofed Prime XSE. I’m just concerned that my 29er E-Mtb is too heavy for the glass roof even going with the weight distributing mini bomber?

Mfgr website below says 55.5 lbs

    https://www.ninerbikes.com/rip-e9/

I know my carbon Road bike would have no issue whatsoever with the mini bomber or any of the smaller Seasucker bike racks. It’s the heavy E bike that I’m concerned about. I would mount it the middle of the three available positions if I got the mini bomber, but I think that’s just too much weight up on the glass roof. Any input from anyone here or has anyone tried this?

If not, I might just have to be content with attempting to stuff it in the hatch with the seats down with the Front Wheel Off in the meantime. Sucks that my beautiful and very expensive Kuat NV 2.0 won’t work as we have no available 2” hitch’s currently.

Just wondering if anybody has taken the Thule plunge yet? If yes, do you have photos?

Only option for now it seems.

I did a deep dive and thought $800-1000 was krazy.
I spent $200 taxed & shipped for a non brand name naked roof cross bars.
It's pretty solid but had to fidgit with it a bit to fit perfectly.

anymore details or experience with racks previously? Affects on paint or how you prevent or lessen them?

Had a bike rack that for my previous Prius and from vibrations and.movement where the rubber touched the paint it ate through the bumper

Maybe a shot or two that gets the whole car would be great thanks! If u get a chance

I've had many cross bars but the vehicles always had factory rails to attach. I'm not too worried about paint damage on this one.
It doesn't move around. You could always put a clear plastic sticker type protector on first.

I'll take a better pic and post later.

I still have my 58” Malone Aero bars from my previously owned Outback Wilderness, would just need the mounting blocks. 58” may be a little
    Wide on the Prime though.
