    Hello All;

    This is my first post. My '05 has always been well-cared for and garaged. Last week, it coded for the the first time: P3000 and P0A0F. Before I could get it to the dealership (two days and roughly 50 miles later), the warning lights (Red Triangle with exclamation point, check engine light & car with exclamation point through it on upper left side of monitor) turned off by themselves.

    I am being told my only option is a full battery replacement. I am limited DIY when it comes to cars and have no desire to breakdown a battery. That said, I have seen stripped down Prius batteries and it seems to me that if there are companies rebuilding them, there ought to be a professional out there who also repairs them.

    Anyone have insight on this??

    Thank you.

    It would sure be easier to help if we knew where in the world you were.

    Who did you choose in the Dallas area to replace your battery?

    Thanks,

    They sent a Tech, with the battery, to my house. Swapped it out in my garage. Took about an hour. 18 month warranty (longer than Toyota gives). Just rolled over 500 miles with the new one. Working perfect, my MPG back over 50. They were fantastic.

    I used Prius Repair of Houston when my 2005 showed the dreaded red triangle at 160,000 miles. I paid $800 cash and got a one year warranty. They were great about working around my schedule (I work odd hours) and came on a Sunday. The tech was friendly and professional and the whole job was done in about two hours in my driveway. I referred them to my brother-in-law in Dallas who has been putting off fixing his battery for several months, due to the dealerships hefty price tag...they quoted him $3,500. I think there was a service fee for driving out there, but everything was still under $1,000 I believe. Hope this helps.
