08 Prius actuator issues code c1256 code C13 45

    08 Prius replaced brake actuator because it would not stop running. ABS lights and buzzer ringing.
    After replacing buzzer still ringing pump will not run. Tried all Techstream options. This message kept coming up could not perform the required active test please Ensure vehicle condition are met and try again.
    Also could not clear codes C1256 and C1345.
    Certainly don't want to think this actuator is bad and replace it again to finding out there something else bad. Already tested all fuses and switched out release with known good ones.
    Any ideas what I might be up against in this situation? Would be greatly appreciated.

    C1256 definitely is the failure to pump the fluid accumulator up to the right pressure. Before making a long face, is there power being supplied and ample fluid in the reservoir?

    C1345 is the linear solenoid offset wanting to be learned, but that can't happen until the pressure can be pumped up anyway.

    Thanks for the reply.
    There is fluid in the reservoir as for power I'm not sure how to check that for sure. But I never heard it run so I would think there's no power. How would I go about checking that? Thanks have a great day.

    Have you provided yourself with access to a multimeter, the repair manual, and the wiring diagram?

    Well definitely have multimeters. But don't have the repair manual or wiring diagram. Kind of have plans for the son to download that when he comes over sometime. he's the computer guy.
    Unit came out of a wrecked car exact same part numbers figured I'd be okay. Sure be nice to have a way to bench test them before installing.

    It's possible for the unit to be blameless, if there's, say, a wiring issue with bringing power to it. That would be among the possibilities the troubleshooting steps in the repair manual would have you check for.

    Yeah going to have to try to get manual information. Kind of thinking so the other one kept running it had to be getting power. So unless I broke a wire or miss a plug figured it should run too if it were good.

    Right, but those are the exact kinds of things that do happen during complex replacement jobs, so always worth a careful check before feeling positive the new unit is bad.
