I have a 2008 Prius with a reconditioned hybrid battery and a new 12 v battery that i have test myself.
The car get red triangle,ABS and VSC warning lights randomly while driving and it will continue to drive fine until you turn it off then it will not go into drive. To drive the car again I have to disconnect the positive battery cable (only tried positive because ease access) and unplug the 2 connectors that are plugged into the positive cable then after reconnecting the positive cable the will drive fine for 2 feet or 2 days and the same thing happens and to get going repeat the process to drive the car.I took it to Oreilly's and got thes codes
P0AA6,C1378,C1241.Im in Oahu to help my Daughter get this solved by next Saturday.
    Thanks

    Welcome to PriusChat!!

The OBD2 reader offered at the parts shop doesn't read the associated INFs (subcodes) for one of the retrieved DTCs.

** Notice that DTC P0AA6 (aka P3006) has five (5) different INFs, and these can help narrow down the issue faster.

** Here is the work up for DTC P0AA6 with the five (5) associated INFs : https://attachments.priuschat.com/attachment-files/2018/04/145252_2006_Prius_RM_-_P0AA6.pdf

You have a HV leak to the body chassis of tr car, that's y you got that code.
You need to get the car scanned or read for trouble codes, to narrowed foen the problem.

The car shuts down and refuses to start, at every time you put the car off, because of the ECU on the car, pretty much dees that there's a risks of electrocution.

The car has 145,000 and there is good movement in the cooling reservoir.
Im ging to look at the HV battery next and check the connections.

Hope you picked up a mini-vci cable with techstream, which will allow you to read any subcodes (INFs) for reported DTCs.

Well the ODBII reader I ordered did not read the sub codes.I ended up taking it to a shop specializing in Prius as well as other hybrids and they tested it tracked it down to the HV battery having a leak of bad cells or both.I do not have the codes from them yet but will have them tomorrow.I am taking the car back to the shop that replaced the battery back in February .
I will update this as I get the information. Thanks again for tall the members who have posted here to get me to this point.
