    Ahh. My deal is a bit different. Bought it for oil filters, but never used it thus. Mostly resides in the kitchen. You just have to be careful, could crack glass when loosening lids.

    Yeah, those are good too (oil filter pliers look just like that) but I like channellocks because you get more leverage (20" handles), they are fully adjustable to fit all filter sizes and you can literally crush the filter to get a good grip on it.

    For the tiny Prius filter, 12" channellocks work just fine.

    There's also an old trick to drive a screwdriver through it, to add a convenient handle.
