A side-by-side comparison on 2018 Prius Four and Four Touring seems to indicate that they both are equipped with the big 11.6" display. See my screenshot here. Is that true? I went to the dealer the other day and test-drove the top-loaded Prius Four model (I assume it's the latest 2018), and I didn't see this big screen on that car. I wonder if the info on Toyota website is accurate. Anybody knows for sure?

The 11.6-inch display, made by Denso, is new in the Prius for model year 2018. For 2017, it was offered only on the Prius Prime plug-in hybrid.

If the Prius Four you drove was a 2016 (some are still unsold) or 2017 model, it would have had the 7-inch display, made by Panasonic, which is still available on the Three and Three Touring. That’s one of the very few differences Toyota has disclosed in the 2018 models.

Here are links to the sales brochures for all three years:

Oh Yes! The big screen looks cool. I like it! Thanks for confirming.
    I probably did test-drive a 2017 model.

Yeah the 2018 info was just released last week so they're probably just on their way to the dealers' lots right now.

It greatly annoys me that for a 2018 car/anything, they're using USB 2.0. That's inexcusable.

It means they bought some cheap dark inventory and slapped it in there. It should have USB 3.0 or better.

I believe the USB port is used only for audio and video playback from a mass storage or iPod device, for which USB 2.0 High Speed at 480 Mb/s would seem to be fast enough. Do you have another application in mind?

Assuming it would cost more—for a more-capable host controller IC, better cabling with more wires between the USB port and the head unit, and possibly some added shielding to avoid radio frequency interference with Bluetooth signals—how would a USB 3.0 interface benefit the customer?

I was on my local dealer website and they only had one Prius listed and it was a 2018 with the big screen.

I would have liked to of had it.

Time will tell if the 11" in the 2018 4 and 4T will inherit the same rebooting issues some of the owners of the Prime have once connected to smartphones.
