12V battery died after 8 years

    I think the skinnier posts are called JIS. JIS (if that's what they're called) battery connectors are hard to find in the US. One can get adapters tho.

    My battery came today. I had a ground wire already made and bending and grinding the positive lug, bolts onto the battery post connector, did the trick. It's in, I ended up putting the foam padding on top. Bob and I are the test subjects, aka guinea pigs, for these batteries. I think they'll have a pretty limited service life just because they aren't built to automotive standards. Who knows, I could be wrong.

    Near as I could 'Google', they should have thicker plates as the automotive versions have to deliver peak current for the starter, the CCA. Also, these should be more tolerant of deep discharge. So I'm of the opinion, let's give them a try.
