12v Battery Terminal Size?

    I went to the parts store to get the cable end terminals that attach to the battery posts and bought a "universal" set. It seems they aren't so universal because the Prius 12v battery posts are smaller diameter than normal.

    What size are the battery posts? I need to find some cable terminals that will fit the posts to complete an experiment I'm working on.

    I've scoured the web for JIS battery terminals but have turned up nothing. It seems the terminals aren't available except as whole cables offered to the OEM.

    Looks like I'll have to use those shims, but at least they are cheap.

    Off-topic, but I wonder if the 2016 with it's in-the-engine-bay battery has gone to regular North American size posts.

    Late to the post, but I've recently been modding the electrics on my 2012 and came across this image regarding the JIS terminals and the dimensions. I've ordered some shims so I'll post that info when the mods are completed.

    So what size ARE the posts? Eyeballing looks like 13mm? Thanks...
