In this business it's almost always bad news for my customers. I think I was as excited as she was when I realized it was just a cooling issue and not her battery failing.

The code that was stored in the HV Battery ECU was P0A82 - Cooling Fan Performance / Stuck OFF. Great memory LadyLock! I didn't even remember showing you that.

Thanks for all of the kind words guys. I'm not sure if I'm that amazing, just had the right tools to figure out what was going on. Chapman's explanation of the trip logic is right on. The computer knew that it was demanding cooling air but the battery temp wouldn't come down.

The battery in the OP's car was manufactured in Nov of 2014 so it's around 3 years in service depending on when it was installed. It does make me wonder if it's been like this the whole time or if it was removed as part of some other job. For example replacing the rear struts would require the removal of that duct, maybe some knucklehead at Firestone forgot to put it back on. Might be something to watch out for.

Thanks @strawbrad, he's shipping me another cooling duct for my car because I didn't have a spare in the shop.

Matt! I hope you felt that smack on your hand just now. Im glad youre getting a new one shipped to you, because I felt horrible letting you put your ducting on my car, fearful that there wouldnt be a spare in your shop. And what do you know? Tisk tisk.;)
Seriously though, thank you. You really were a miracle worker. My car hasn't ran this good since i got it, and today my battery level got up to just one bar shy of full and maintained it for a good 15 mins. Green batteries are so much prettier than blue and purple ones.:p

Pilotgrrl, what area are you in? Im south Arlington-ish. 20 and green oaks.

This part might be better as a private conversation.
I am glad you two still want to meet up.

"I've never had bit of luck" says you?

Says I, judging (superficially) by your pic...
    that you were BornLocky.

I, on the other hand, posted a pic of my neighbor's pooch to enhance reality.

D.O.A. off two terribly boring and disappointing months in Europe (mainly because they wouldn't let me stay), your story has inspired me to go tear-off plastic and see if I 'got locky' as well. Not optimistic; gut-sensates "New HV!". Or maybe, rather than the beast entiro, I'll skate with a slate of fresh cells.

Bluetooth OBD keeps bobbing around in my crystal ball; I intend to accurately diagnose in order to guide expenditure(s).

    Congrats on low-$$$ resolution.

1 year and still going strong! =]

Btw, I figured posting here would notify the members who were so helpful before, and maybe could be helpful once more.

I moved back home to Wilmington, NC. Was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for a hybrid Specialist in this area. Any and all information is greatly appreciated. =]
