Just picked this up Yakima Holdup 2" on FB Marketplace. Will any 2" receiver hitch work with this rack or must I get one specifically made for Gen 3 Prius?

    Thanks!

Yeah 2" reciever is standard for big vehicles. Most hitches for prius are the next size smaller and if you use a hitch adapter it increases the length of the lever (aka: force on tongue weight) which turns into a problem with more than a few bikes of a load. But fortunately if you modify it DIY style it won't be an issue.

There are a number of 2" hitches built specifically for Gen3 Prii. I have the original version of the Torklift Hidden hitch, installed at their primary shop ('sort of' local to me). They have revised designs since. Not inexpensive, but it works very well.

Most stuff that mounts on a hitch is designed for trucks and larger vehicles that can handle greater tongue weight. You can reduce your tongue weight by shortening the length of the lever that creates that weight. You can also modify the bike rack so it fits on a smaller size reciever.
