new to the forum so sorry if this is posted in the wrong place.

Our prius (base 2006) got the red triangle one day while driving. We used the OBD2, found that it was due to a dirty/clogged fan not cooling the main battery.

Cleaned the fan and noticed the connector had a lot of corrosion on it and on the male/female terminal connectors.

Took them off to clean them not knowing they were crimped on and one use only. So we didn't have a replacement on deck, we just twisted them together so they were at least connected and could turn the car on. Didn't use the car after that, woke up the next day to use it and our dashboard had almost every light on. It would only go to N, no MPH, trunk wouldn't open ect.
We got another 12v battery that day, hooked it up, the fan worked but the car is still not driving and has almost all the dash lights on.
Ran the OBD2 again and it's saying U0100 (PCM is not able to send or receive CAN communication signals) Is this to do with those wires? Kinda stumped now. We ordered some new connectors, do you think that would fix this issue?

    These are the wires

Sorry for the long post, just want to try and give all the info I can

Check all the fuses - both in the underhood and underdash fuseblocks.

Generally you just go to a junker and cut out the plug and apply it with the methodology you're comfortable with. And usually that'll take care of the fan business without the fan you can get codes lights and no start I found this out the hard way running with a dead battery going to get a brand new one etc. So all those fan wires need to be connected and not shorting out against the body or anything else tape whatever. And then of course I check your fuses and all of that stuff and make sure you're 12 volt is in fact 12 volt or right near it 11.9 something anything below 10 volts is pretty much no good if you put a charger on it and bring it up and then try to start it and it works well you'll see.
