Is there a sequence or procedure to allow my navi unit to stop closing the radio/satellite screen? It cuts out to the previous screen or no screen after 20 seconds.

    Help!

Bumping this thread hoping for an answer. We just took delivery on a IV w/Nav and really want the radio screen to stay on, not cut back to the map.

Anyone out there know if this can be done??

Go to Setup -> General -> Auto Screen Change

The Nav instruction manual gives the following info:

    “Onâ€
    or “Off†can be selected for
    automatic screen changes from
the audio screen to the map.
    When
    “On†is selected, the
    screen will automatically return to
the map from the audio screen after
    20 seconds.

By setting to Off, this will stop the automatic switching back to the GPS screen.

I am not sure of the automatic switching from GPS to audio. This is the first I have heard of this. You may want to talk to your dealer about this one.

You should go back to your dealer and give them hell for not supplying you with a manual.

The manual is a bit confusing on this part - it keeps referring to the 20 second timeout/switch to map as "normal"

    thanks a bunch guys!

Actually the manual is correct. The default or "normal" state of Auto Screen Change is On. This means that if you change the screen away from the map screen, 20 seconds later it will automatically switch back to the map screen.

If you change the state to Off, the screen will no longer automatically switch back to the map screen.
