broke the fuel rail removing it.

Do newer 2004+ fuel rails work on the 2002?

can i cut the engine part that is holding the fuel rail?

You mean the goofy hook-shaped piece of the valve cover that sticks out over it?

You could probably cut that, or just loosen the valve cover.

PriusChat member astrolink figured out the rail does have enough freedom of motion, without disturbing the valve cover, to r&r the injectors if you finesse it. Injector 4 takes the most finesse....

Don't overlook that the rail also has a bracket and a bolt into the end of the cylinder head.

Why did you want to remove it?

Did you break the actual piping of the fuel rail, so that it sprays gas? If it doesn't leak, probably you could have the mounting bracket repaired at a welding shop. Do later rails work? Don't know it would depend on how the rail lines up with the injectors and if the rail will fit the injectors.

LMK if you need a used rail. I need to go out to the wrecking yard, and I could get you one when I go. We are heading into beastly hot weather here, tho. So I'll have to get up in the middle of the nite to go.

I'm heading out to the JY. The rail itself costs about $14, don't know what postage will be, but how does $25 sound? Can't wait for an answer, it's getting hotter by the minute. so I'll go ahead and pull it off. Text me at 520 310 9165 I'm Brian (in Tucson.)

I went to the jy today, found a fuel rail, but didn't have a tool I needed to remove it.I'll try to go again tomorrow with the proper tools.

I was out there at11:00 . probably 100 degrees and had to quit because of the heat.

That's the one that stopped me today. Didn't even have any trouble getting the fuel hose disconnected.

Anybody need a set of injectors?

I wonder if he still wants the fuel rail?

I don't need many parts at the moment. Too bad, the one I looked at in the JY is a nice almost complete 03 in metallic blue. I wish it weren't so f**ing hot here, I'd like to mine some parts. The center dash isn't even cracked.

I looked more closely today. 158 xxx miles on the poor thing. Really was a nice car, I suspect that something big broke like the HV battery. Still almost untouched after a couple of weeks.

I got the fuel rail, btw. Sure are alot of valve cover bolts to take out!

    PM sent to buyer.

Not so nice saying you'll take something and then never come back to the forum. I guess I'll take it back for a refund tomorrow

Really unfortunate that the OP abused your kindness. No way I would be working on a vehicle out in the open in this hot summer sun.
