Since you are in IN, I'd be remiss if I didn't tell you about Steve at autobeyours.com. He rebuilds Gen II Prius and he's very good at it. He's in Scottsburg IN. Take a look at his website and if you don't see something you like, give him a call (he can probably find exactly what you want). Other than that, good luck. Too bad for your car but, 290,xxx miles is really pretty awesome.

AFAIK Steve doesn't deal with Gen1's (or Gen3's) so call him first. He's an expert in Gen2's, and has plenty of used Gen2 parts.

Yes you're correct Paul, Steve doesn't deal w/ Gen I's but I was telling him about Steve b/c he says he going to trash his Gen I and get a low mileage Gen II. I was just thinking Steve has a lot of contacts and could probably help him get the Gen II he's looking for.

That is quite a list but the Prius 'remembers' every code. As a general rule, we like to:
    1. Record all the initial codes - DONE
    2. Clear all codes - either disconnect 12V ground for a minute or OBD clear
    3. Record the codes that come back
We then work on the re-occurring codes as these are current problems, not something that might be left from an earlier problem.

Since it sounds like this car may go to the dealer and likely an auto-auction, please hide a note in the Owner's Manual about "PriusChat." We are likely to see this car again from an new owner.

    Bob,
After all the codes were cleared the first one that showed up was the transaxle code, next was the HV battery. This will not be going to auction. It's a parts car.

I agree that sounds like what should happen. Just we've seen some 'auction' bought Prius that were in a similar state.

was offered $500 by a local guy. 3prongpaul said he would go a little more if i could hold it for a couple weeks while he arranged transportation. It does not drive. I will be out of contact 'til Monday as I'm going to Wisconsin ice-fishing in a couple hours.

If it's in decent shape, sell it to one of us to fix it, it's still gonna cost me less to fix it than buy a new car. But that's just me :)

    Men,
Does anyone want to buy my old prius? I bought a 2007 w/58000 over the weekend. Don't want it sitting in front of my house too long.

What color is it? What kind of shape is the interior in? What is the exterior condition (paint, dents, dings etc). Does it have Cruise control? Did the AC work (prior to now)?

its silver w/rebuilt title. I was in a small accident about 100,000 miles ago. It has cruise, air works because just spent $1500 on new air conditioning parts, out side is in good shape with no dents normal dings, inside is in great shape, non smoker, just has a vw axle grease spot on driver seat about the size of a quarter. Has about 25000 more miles on tires.

interior is in good shape, it's cloth has one vw axle grease stain on driver seat the size of your thumb. Has floor mats, needs a good cleaning, everything works, dont know the tint numbers but it is all the same and the darkest you can get before limo tint.
