2003 Prius Battery

    i bought a 2003 Prius battery but the terminals where to thin so how can i get the right one that i need anyone help

    Get the numbers off of your old battery and by the same one you took out of it.

    The Gen 1 could have two different batteries, as described in this thread with the part numbers.

    The higher-capacity one had larger terminal posts and there was a retrofit kit available to change the car's cable terminals and hold-down to match. If your car already has the larger cable terminals, then the higher-capacity battery is probably the drop-in replacement.

    The old part number of that one, 28800-21190, was later superseded by 28800-31291, which is still available. The last one I bought, its capacity had been further improved, to 54 amp hours.
