2003 prius - ignition switch key hard to turn

    My 2003 Prius ignition switch is having problems turning the key and removing the key. Tried using dry graphite to solve sticky problem, but did not work. I am afraid to use spray lubricant.

    Do you have more than one key? If so, do they all do it, or just one?

    My '01 came with two black-headed "full service" keys, and a grey-headed "valet" key. The only stated difference is that the grey-headed key won't open the trunk. They all should work the same in the ignition.

    I used one of the black-headed keys until it started being finicky in the trunk and (occasionally) the door locks, after about 9 or 10 years or so. As far as I remember, it still worked in the ignition. Then I switched to the other black-headed key and the problem went away and has stayed gone for the next 7 or 8 years so far.
