It should beep one single beep. It is not capable of honking afaik.

Some of the older models were NOT equipped to change options like that without a Prius specific scan tool.

    Ask a dealer or two.

no prius (toyota?) can honk the horn afaik. you would have to take it to a car electronics shoppe, and ask them to perform a modification to the system

I assumed that it was not "beeping" either.
That may not be the case.

i can relate, because of hearing loss. i don't want the horn, too obtrusive. but a louder beep would be nice when there's traffic around.

as far as unlocking all 4 doors, that's user changeable with the fob

OK.....correct me if I am wrong......and you KNOW that it is wrong, not just a guess:

I thought that the 1 models, until just recently maybe like 2014, did not have an option for remote anything.
That is, you locked and unlocked the doors with a key.
If that is right, then your answer above is incomplete and confusing.

If I am wrong......then OOPS, sorry.

Don’t ALL gen 2 Prius have fobs? Plus everyone is speculating all over the place. The OP didn’t even say what year his car is.

i admit, i don't know anything about package one. they have never sold them in new england.

i have never heard of a gen2 that had a physical key, other than the emergency key in the fob, but i can't say absolutely.
judging from the o/p, i'm not sure why you are trying to start an argument. i don't think they mean 'one click' of the key.

    1. To unlock all the doors, stand next to your car and press the "LOCK and PANIC" buttons at the same time, hold for 5 seconds. You'll hear it beep and change the settings to unlock all doors. To change it back to unlocking driver's door only, repeat the same step.

    2. To get it to honk, you'll need to get one of those dealer alarms (KARR), it'll honk when it locks.

The same could be said about offering "advice" when you don't KNOW whether it is correct or not.

Then no-one would have to cluttter/confuse threads correcting incorrect information. This is how urban legends are created.
