That original dealer that replaced the Inverter was clueless. Stay away from him.
    The car probably threw code:

    PAO80

which is the death knell for the Hybrid Battery. That and a bouncing charge meter (which I think you initially mentioned early as I went uh oh)

Prius's that old sometimes just have alot of corrosion on the interconnection buss bars between the battery packs in the Hybrid battery case. But you must have alot of technical or mechanical skills to repair that which is why I asked about you. Sorry, I should have been more clear.

If your really broke you may be able to purchase a used battery pack locally from a junk yard cash$$. Its pretty easy to swap in and we can help you. Only thing is the pack is quite heavy and you may need help to install it.

Post any price you find here first before you buy though as it may be the same price as a garanteed pack from the many different providers.

Call AVI as he may be able to install this for you.

You should be able to register the VIN on the Toyota owner's website. That will allow you to see its Toyota service history, which will probably give you an idea of where it was initially owned.

Does the history include new car prep? If so, it's almost certain that it was purchased there.

A Carfax printout would probably tell you, but that costs money. You might be able to talk to a service writer and see if he/she can pull that information up.

Hmmm. Not at home with my notes but that doesn't sound right. You need to get the printed out service receipt.

If it was me I would go to another Toyota dealer or maybe AVI. Pay the $100 diag fee and have them pull all the codes and get them on a printed receipt because your just spinning your wheels here.

Avi won't charge $100 to read codes. Then again neither would AutoBeYours in Indiana or Mellors in Florida.

A reasonable guess, and if correct this would mean that MG1 within the transaxle had failed.

I am curious, did you figure out the problem yet?

I couldn't post any messages, so I contacted the admin and he fixed it for us. I guess it was more than just me anyway. :p Anyway, that was why my previous message was blank.
