You would have to swap cars back and forth to try and eliminate driver skill. A drag strip is a better way of testing mods. Reaction time has a drastic affect on races. :)

There is no way in hell I'd race you at 75-80, we'd get beer bottles thrown at us! that would be okay if they were full and I could catch them... but most likely the beer bottles would be empty or full of gasoline with a lit rag hanging out the top...

Honestly don't waste your time with maestro8, he's the type of person who will never be satisfied. He said that all he'd need was a dyno sheet, but when we talked about a race, he said that one race wouldn't be good enough, this leads me to believe that one dyno sheet that posts improved results with the resonator and high-flow MAF wouldn't be enough, it must be a fluke right? We need 10 dyno tests and take the average of all 10. If that showed gains well then all 10 dyno runs must be wrong, did we use the same dyno machine? We have to use multiple dynos to ensure that the dyno machine isn’t flawed and reporting false results…
It could go on and on…

Here’s how I look at it:

    - $20 to buy an after-market part = waste of money.
    - Installing the part and spending time enjoying doing it = Priceless.

    - $120 to buy a Progress rear sway bar = waste of money. (I could have used the
money for something else – Like fixing the rain gutters on my house.)
    - Installing the part and spending time enjoying doing something that I love,
enjoying the improved ride characteristics = Priceless.

    - $20 spent to buy a ticket to the movies = waste of money.
    - Time spent with my wife doing something that we enjoy = priceless.

    - $50 spent on dinner = waste of money.
    - Time spent with family and friends eating a delicious meal = priceless.

wanted to share this with you:

So what are your suggestions for improving the sluggish acceleration?
waited for reply.... waited some more.... still no reply.... checked again for some cool ideas that maestro8 might have.... still no reply...
That’s what I thought – you have nothing to add to the conversation of improving the Prius’ sluggish acceleration.
Off the top of my head I can think of:
    1. iridium spark plugs
    2. upgraded ignition
    3. larger fuel injectors
    4. exhaust header
    5. modify the throttle body (bore it out)
    6. somehow create a throttle body spacer
The iridium spark plugs maybe the only DIY project on the list…Most of these are impractical, would require extreme customization of parts, creating one-of-a kind parts etc...
SO YES REMOVAL OF THE RESONATOR IS THE BEST AND CHEAPEST IMPROVEMENT FOR SLUGGISH ACCELERATION.
Once again (and not surprisingly) maestro8 you have nothing constructive to add.
I would figure a self proclaimed scientist like yourself would have designed and theorized some quality performance parts for the Prius and shared them with the rest of us so we too could enjoy your designs. But someone like yourself who has no original thoughts or ideas to share; can only attempt to insult others for their ideas. As all the other posts that you’ve commented on, you have nothing new, innovative or constructive to say, nothing to add to the mod community, so why are you commenting?
    The great scientist strikes again!

That's why team sports are so important. School boards love to cut funding for sports, but they overlook how it teaches interpersonal skills like working as a group or a team towards a common goal, or how to get along with others.

Those skills can't be learned by reading a book, they have to be experienced. Which is why most academics have no interpersonal skills and don't know how to work in groups or as a team.

I started with baseball, then Lacrosse, then track - 110 hurdles and the 4x2 relay, then back to lacrosse... then I had to get a job and sadly that didn't leave much time for sports.

Nice! I agree the 'raked' look is better, than squatting - another .5-.75" lower in the front should do the trick. U gonna still try and cut them?
