Our Prius has been like this since the day we bought it (used.) The A/C will only work sometimes. It won't ever blow hot air or anything, it simply won't turn on. I press the button and...no air! If it works then it works great. It seems to be related to the weather. If it is super hot outside and we've got a bunch of errands to run, often it won't ever turn on. Sometimes it will after a long time, randomly. And then usually when it's cooler outside, the A/C will come on immediately with no problem. This is the same with the heat.

    Please help!!!

More often than not this is caused by the fan motor not running. To check drop down the the storage compartment on the passengers side and remove the cabin air filter. Looking through the slot where the air filter was you can see the top of the fan. Turn the fan on and give it a spin with your hand if it starts this means the motor brushes are stuck or worn. If this is the case remove the motor clean or replace brushes or replace the motor.

Great advice. I will try that later today, thank you.

Anyone else have experience with this fan motor not running? Could it be something else?

Occasionally it will blow very very lightly when on full blast and then out of nowhere it will start blowing full blast and freezing cold like it should.

That is a typical of worn or stuck brushes. It is not to difficult to remove the fan motor to service it. Giving the motor a tap will often start it.
