      • Good day all. My prius will not start. My smart key works because it unlocks and locks my 2005 prius. Also, my head lights, brake lights, emergency lights, dome lights all work. However my prius will not start. When I put the smart key in the key slot and press the brake pedal then press the power button, the prius will not start. Also, I notice the power button light does not come on almost like it does not sense the smart key at all. But like i have mentioned before the smart key unlocks/locks the car doors. I changed the battery on the smart key but the prius still will not start. Any advices are well appreciated.

is this a new to you car?. is this your first prius?

    hot California.

the prius will not "turn on" [ICE] until it is necessary.

    put it in gear.

if your prius is not "turning on" that is a good thing.

put it in gear and go.
