My 2005 Prius with 186k mileage will not start. It had a hybrid battery fault for over a year and I would start it up and drive it around town occasionally to keep things charged up. I recently bought and replaced the hybrid battery with a refurb pack. After I done this, it would not start. I put the other battery pack back in and it would not start with it either.(refurb pack is back in) I replaced the 12v battery with OEM new. I have replaced all the spark plugs, the throttle body, and the MAF sensor. I get p3190/p3191 codes and my hybrid battery is at one bar now. It has a full tank of gas. I don't know what to do next.

    Welcome to PriusChat!!
It sounds like the 'refurb pack' isn't up to the task. Can you return the 'refurb pack' ?

Which device/app are you using to scan for OBD2 codes (DTCs) ?

P3190 states poop engine power and P3191 states the obvious: engine will not start. The possible causes for P3191 are:

    •Air induction system malfunction.
    •Defective throttle body.
    •Improper fuel pressure.
    •Defective engine.
    •Defective Mass Airflow (MAF) meter.
    •Vehicle is out of fuel.
•Defective Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor.
    •Defective crankshaft position sensor.
    •Defective camshaft position sensor.
    •Defective Engine Control Module (ECM).

There should be sub codes. Are you able to read those?

I have a OBDII with the Torque Pro app. What do I need to get to read sub codes?

I'm not exactly sure if Torque Pro will read sub codes, but according to one of the forums the Dr. Prius app can read the sub codes.

Here is the workup for DTC P3190 and DTC P3191 : https://share.qclt.com/%E4%B8%B0%E7%94%B0%E6%99%AE%E7%91%9E%E6%96%AF%E5%8E%9F%E5%8E%82%E8%8B%B1%E6%96%87%E6%89%8B%E5%86%8Cpdf%E6%A0%BC%E5%BC%8F/Prius%20Service%20Manuals%202004/%E4%BF%AE%E7%90%86%E6%89%8B%E5%86%8C/04pruisr/05/2054m/cip3190a.pdf

It sounds like either of the HV batteries no longer have enough charge to turn over the engine in an attempt to start it.

Before depleting the HV battery, how many times did you attempt to get the engine started?

There are no INFs (subcodes) for the above OBD2 codes (DTCs).

You don't have to start a new post to correct a typo (if you can get to the post within 6 hours, I think), just click on the 'Edit' button on the bottom left of the post and fix any typos.

It is there for only 12 hours, then yes you don't have an edit button.

If its not the hybrid battery it will be soon if you keep attempting to start it. The bad start attempts will kill that battery You kill that battery the car is a brick.

Is it attempting to turn over or you just hit the ready button and nothing. if nothing it has a hybrid battery failure code your not seeing becasue your obd tool is not capable to pull hybrid codes.

If its turning over but not starting Throttle body may be severely clogged from lack of maintenance and the butterfly is stuck. Or it is not getting gas or it has injector issues.
