2005 Stereo swap with 2006

    My tape player died in my 2005. I have the JBL 6 CD changer system.

    I'd like to swap it with a 2006 head unit so i can have an Aux line-in.

    Anybody know if it can be done and if so can advise me? I know the wiring harnesses are different.

    i think you can use the 2006 jbl head unit, but the base unit will not work w/ the jbl power amp, and all the speaker wires are going under the rf seat, not to the dash. you might be able to use the factory harness if you put an aftermarket amp under the seat, but it won't be easy and you will probably need to run some additional wires as well as hack the harness up a bit.

    Did you end up swapping the 2005 JBL for a 2006 JBL? Did it work ok? Also do you have Navigation?

    I want to do the swap to get MP3. I have 2005 6CD, Tape, JBL, Bluethooth, Navigation, and hoping to swap for the similar 2006 JBL 6CD with MP3. I will loose the Tape for MP3.

    Has anyone tried this? Has it hurt navigation or Bluetooth?
