A general question for the general population..

I purchased a 2005 last year (190k miles & 7 button MFD). I purchased another 2005 about a month ago (131k with 4 button MFD). Both of the MFDs have what looks like an orange hazy oval in the center about 4 or 5 inches wide when viewed from the driver seat. It makes it difficult to read the display. If I move my head toward the center where I can look directly at the MFD, it's perfectly clear and looks great. It's definitely not glare or reflection, as I've tried shading.

Has anyone experienced this on theirs? Did you fix it? Did you have to replace just the touchscreen digitizer or the entire display? Did you just buy a replacement MFD? Did you just grow a longer neck so you could look straight at it? Fill me in...

Are you wearing polarised glasses/sunglasses by any chance?

No sir, but I wish it could be something that easy to solve.

When I get home today, I'll get a photo from each angle. I think that would help explain it better.

Ok, here's 4 photos, starting from the driver seat and moving toward the center of the car, looking at the MFD. It also does the same thing if starting from the passenger seat.

Looks like something is delaminated and/or the screen leaking.

I have no real knowledge of how LCD screens fail, but I resolved the problem by installing a replacement MFD. It now looks perfect again. Since I know the electronics for this one are just fine, I'll just keep my eye's open for a replacement screen and build this one back up again when I have the chance.
