Hello, my headlight turned yellow and I am planning to change the whole headlight assembly but how do you tell what production date is on my car? Also, if my car is not LED so it meets my car is Halogen headlight? Tks!

I think the Gen 2 choice was between halogen or HID.

You can check the date on the registration, or more accurately it will be listed on the drivers side door jamb, near the VIN.

You can use the VIN to learn the vehicle specs (among other things) here : Vehicle Specification | Toyota Owners

Does your car have foglights?- if it does then you have HID headlights. If it doesn't then you have halogen headlights. There should be a rectangular sticker in the driver's door jamb (the space on the body of the car that you can only see when the door is open). It has the VIN (vehicle ID number), gross registered weight, production date, manufacturer, etc.

You can clean the yellow pretty easily in ten minutes and re-coat the lens with UV protectant so it stays clear for months or a year if you want to do the easy thing.
But if you are replacing the whole unit, why not change to LEDs at the same time?

Curious if there is an 'all-in-one' LED replacement being marketed, if so can you please link to that for the rest of us.

Not sure if there is a HID to LED all in one replacement.

I’ve got HIDs and would love to change them to LEDs but all I’ve found are the replacement modules that look more complicated to change out into the existing housing than I want to attempt. Maybe someone else has better information.
