    Greetings all,

I've been working on my wife's 220k miles 2006 Prius trying to get her horn back in working order since she loves to honk.

    Initial problem was:
    • Steering controls all worked (though no back lights)
    • Horn and lights would work with wheel turned a good degree
Figured after 200K+ the clockspring had let go. Got it replaced with an OEM part and still have no horn. 10A fuse checks out, so now I'm assuming it's time to check the relay below the fuse and then the horn leads.

I did get a faint horn sound with when I powered the car off and depressed the horn, though it was only instantaneous and couldn't get it reproduced.

Any other tips would be greatly appreciated!

Was this a clock bring from Toyota?

    What was appropriate cost?

Many if the really cheap ones have issues.

Why not apply 12V directly to the horn to verify that it works. Then work backwards to figure out where you have a loss of 12V between the relevant fuse and the horn.

Remove and reinstall the steering wheel.
