Hello! I am selling my 2006 Prius (White). He is in good conditions, hybrid motor running fine. Average 45 MPG for the last 12 months. 150.000 miles. Replaced front brake system (August 2016), two rear tires (December 2016) and 12 V battery (August 2017). Suddenly, last week, after replacing auxiliary battery, the red triangle alert. Took to Toyota Dealer service, and they said that is a transmission problem and they want to charge me $7000 to fix it. I have been reading about it and maybe is a mis-diagnostics problem. After all, the car is running perfectly, charging the hybrid battery and under the same mileage. Anyway, I want to sell it for a price lower that it worth ($3,750). Anyone interested in parts can have a whole car and sell the parts. I am offering it at $2,700... Thanks Gui.
welcome! someone here was just looking for a deal like this, i hope they see your thread, all the best!
You might attract more attention if you post the diagnosis codes that the dealer retrieved from the car computer (to help give a buyer a sense of what is wrong).
Hi! The error code given by Toyota technicians was P0A7A (TRANSMISSION ECU). They just said that they need to replace the whole transmission.... But, what is an ECU? What it does? Important note: since I got the car back from the dealer (08/07/17), no more warning lights at all and car is running perfectly... Big mystery...Waiting for the Prius experts' advices... Abraço! Gui
