From the other topics I've read, it sounds like it could either be a bent bolt / alignment fix, the wheel bearing, or a belt under the hood. This just started happening last night - the sound doesn't get worse or better depending on speed (if anything it kind of goes away over 40 mph, but not totally).

Turning the wheel of the car while it's stopped does not make the noise.

Going over speed bumps does feel and sound worse than usual (is it a shock/strut thing?)

Here's a video of of the sound:

Was just hoping for advice on what it is so I can make an informed decision at the mechanic's (if necessary)

    thanks!

Cool, I get first dibs on "name that noise". ;)

Did you look under the car?
My guess is a dragging plastic under-body panel.

    Good Luck.

thanks for the quick reply. I did look under the car, and could not see any dragging plastic pieces or anything in the wheel well - maybe there is something stuck between the hub and the wheel? We have 10 million potholes and constant construction in the city I live in, so that is super possible. I'll move it to a level location later today and take the wheel off and see if i can shake anything out

First identify if it makes the same sound, whether or not the car is moving. If it only makes the sound while it's moving, it then cannot be belt related

Right. It does not make the noise when idling or hitting the accelerator while sitting in park. I guess I'm most worried that it's a strut or shock problem. Is there a way to check or something else that would be symptomatic if that's the case?

Sounds like something relatively small wrapped around an axle.
