Any updates? I have a 07 that I just got yesterday that appears to have the same issue as you describe.

Moderator: OP has a ‘07 that shut down unexpectedly. Could be the 12V battery?

What is the "issue" exactly? Lights on the dash? The red triangle of death can sometimes mean the inverter pump has failed and the inverter overheats and the car dies.

The red triangle also sometimes means the hybrid battery has failed. Very common with people who have just bought a used prius.

many people will sell there G2 prius when the hybrid battery fails after they find out how expensive or what a hassle it is.
usually the dealer will condemn the car with a hybrid failure the owner will trade it in on the spot car goes to auction and ends up on the corner used car lot waiting for its next victim.

If you can make the car READY the difference between the 2 is with a failed hybrid battery it also will have a car icon in the upper left corner of the mfd the screen right above the radio. No car icon we call the turtle its probably the inverter pump this can be confirmed by taking the cap off the inverter reservoir and with car ready look inside for movement of the fluid. If the fluid it just sitting there it needs a new pump.
And it may have blown the AM2 fuse too.

if the car is dead and wont ready do what they suggest above disconnect the pump connector and replace the am2 fuse. car should start
just don't drive it much till you get a new pump.

It would be good to check the batterie level, you can try to jump start it if it's low
