2007 Prius traction battery failure

    I run 5w40 in my 2004. It runs very well and doesn’t burn any oil. The reason I switched was these engines can be a little loud and it seemed to make it run a little smoother.

    I run Shell Rotella T6 5w40. It’s commonly run in Diesel engines, but oil is oil, it just has a stronger additive package and keeps my engine extremely clean. Highly recommend.


    By the way your oil consumption isn’t bad at all, so you could just keep doing what you’re doing.

    1/8 qt in 4500 mi is nothing. Keep watching that and your coolant levels every time you fill up your gas. Stay the same or go 0W-30. Remember ILSAC when buying oil...
