2007 Prius-what would you do?

    Thank you to all for your suggestions and thoughts. Still, I'm not sure what I will do but this has given me a starting point with the different suggestions. I'm not too much of a dyi person but for a few simple things. Messing with the high voltage battery is something I'm not comfortable with. The 12-volt battery, I replaced in 2014. Oil (have always used synthetic) replacement is probably about 1/2 qt. every 500 miles. I can somewhat control the oil consumption by how I drive the vehicle with acceleration and running the engine hard but I'm one of those people who pokes around town and give Prius drivers a bad name, HAHA!

    a quart every 1,000 miles isn't too bad at your mileage. i would never bother changing the oil.:cool:

    True, one new quart of synthetic oil every 1000 miles, after 4000 miles I've changed the oil basically!!!;)

    Sorry, it doesn’t work this way. You still need to dump the oil periodically to drain off all the crud. If you don’t, you will eventually seize your engine.
