Just bought this Prius in LA. Was at an auction in Florida previously and bought from a dealer. Less than 10 miles on the highway and multiple warning lights and the red Problem sign on the dash board with the car outline and exclamation came up. Any ideas? I know it might be the inverter pump(?) but a mechanic just said the warnings are gone now and it looks good on its own basically. The AC was not cold yesterday though. Could it just have been sitting too long and has to be reset the sensors? Or could it be a serious problem?

If you have a failed inverter pump, it would have the issues you mentioned. If there are dash lights on, there are codes stored. No guess work required

Is there a such thing as replacing the pump and still getting the pa093 error code?

    Welcome to Prius Chat (y).

    There can be;).

    Some questions:
    • Where’d you get the pump from?
    • Is there turbulence in the reservoir?
    • Do you hear the pump running?
    • How many miles on your Prius?
Good luck and keep us posted (y).

if you're still getting the code after pump replacement, you should check all the wiring going to the pump. Critters love chewing on them

The pump came from eBay I believe, I was shade tree’d by a guy I thought I could trust because he previously worked on my car (hybrid battery code) and gave me a good price to rebuild some cells.

No turbulence from what I can tell, not a quiver of movement from the reservoir.

By the pump running, if you mean that whirring sound every so often then yes, if that’s not the correct sound then no

225,xxx proud. Thanks for your help

Thanks, wiring would be outside my wheelhouse so I was going to contact a shop that specializes in hybrids up the street from my house and see if they could quote me over the phone. Do you think a flush of the coolant could be a solution?

This is only the second issue I’ve had outside having a cell or so replaced, so I’ve been pretty happy about the car thus far, and if it weren’t for a shady, shade tree mechanic I would only be about 60 bucks into the repair. So far, right at 300

a flush of the coolant will not fix anything. If you don't see turbulence and movement in the fluid, your pump is probably not working. If it's not working, you would get the P0A93 code

Ok so, took the pump out that the and replaced with another and it worked! Noticed that turbulence immediately. I guess the first replacement pump was just bad. Thanks for all your help!
