2008 Toyota Prius rear end sways over bumps

    I was hoping someone can answer this question for me I've realized in the past week or two that when I am slight Road and Perfections manhole covers and potholes my rear end feels like it's swsys a little my front end feels like it is just fine it's after the front hits the bumps the back end feels like it lets loose can someone tell me what the problem might be I have 70,000 miles on the car thank you

    I should also add if you let go of the steering wheel it goes perfectly straight no pulling left or right

    sounds like shocks/struts, but i'm no expert. how are the tyres?

    If your car has 80+ thousand miles, time for all new shocks whether they leak or not. OEM shocks just don't last much beyond 50+ thousand miles, no matter what the car, except that they deteriorate so slowly that it's imperceptible until they get really old and bad. It's not that much $$$ for new shocks , and not hard to do it yourself if you or your friends are tool-handy.

    Tires look fine no unnormal wear they have 10,000 miles on them

    maybe you have a broken suspension part or worn bushings. if you can't diy, i would take it to a reputable suspension shop or toyota dealer and have them look around. maybe an anti sway bar would help, idk.
