I'm not sure why you are arguing against reality. We know what Toyota sells the iQ for in the UK, and it is not the same as a mid-level Yaris.

    Yaris T2 1.0L 3-Door ----------- 7093
    Yaris T2 1.0L 5-Door ----------- 7515
    ----------------------------------- 7541 iQ 3-Door 1.0L
    Yaris TR 1.0L 3-Door ----------- 7567
    Yaris TR 1.0L 5-Door ----------- 7993
    Yaris T3 1.0L 3-Door ----------- 8128
    ----------------------------------- 8393 iQ2 3-Door 1.0L
    Yaris T3 1.0L 5-Door ----------- 8554
    Yaris SR 1.3L 3-Door ----------- 8845
    Yaris SR 1.3L 5-Door ----------- 9271
    Yaris T Spirit 1.3L 3-Door ----- 9280
    Yaris T-Spirit 1.3L 5-Door ------ 9706
    Yaris SR 1.8L 3-Door ---------- 11023
    Yaris SR 1.8L 5-Door ---------- 11449

*All prices in English Pounds, all vehicles base engine for trim level w/ manual transaxles.

Again, the only Yaris that costs less than the base iQ is the T2. The Yaris T2 is not available with side airbags, stability control, air conditioning, or alloy wheels. These are not even available as options. All of these features are standard on the iQ that costs 422 pounds more. The Yaris TR adds these features and costs 26 pounds more than the iQ.

7,541 pounds is $11,084 US dollars. Your idea that Toyota will charge $3,000 more for the iQ in the US market than the UK market is opposite from what they do with every other vehicle.
