    Welcome to Prius Chat (y).

    Some questions:

    • How many miles on your Prius?
    • How long have you had it?
    • What is your mpg?
    • What does the hybrid battery state of charge donwhile the car is roaring?
    • Does it stay at the same pitch or does the pitch change?
    • How’s the engine oil level?
    Good luck and happy holidays(y).

Check your tires for uneven wear

Since he seems to think the noise is coming from that general area.

Some brands/models of tires have noisy tread patterns too.
Think off-road truck tires......only not quite as bad.

    And another wild idea:
Does the noise only occur when the gas engine is running ??
Like maybe the previous owner messed with the intake system.

it’s not a quiet car. And it’s all tire.

Try deflating all the tires substantially like to 22 lbs as a test and see if the noise characteristic changes.

Keep in mind if your running LRR tires they have much harder rubber and when get old are really really noisey.
Hopefully your not running Goodyear Integrities they are the worlds worst tire imho. Hard as a rock.

What kind of tire are you running.

BUT don't leave them like that for very long.
LOW pressure is a good way to KILL tires.
