2010 Gen 3 P3004

    All,

    Got "Check Hybrid System" and no start when I tried to start the car on Sunday. Started with the 12v battery, as it was 8.5 years old. After replacing with a new battery, same code.

    Hooked up a basic obd2 scanner/Dr. Prius android app, and it throws code P3004. Unfortunately, it can't read the detail code. It does seem to show that all the battery cells look strong.

    Any ideas before I have this thing towed to the dealership?

    how many miles on her?

    could be connector or battery corrosion, bad ground, etc.

    no way of knowing until you pull everything apart. rodents chewing on wires can be another issue.

    practically the whole of the high voltage harness. problem can be at any point, battery, a/c compressor, tranny, or anywhere in between.

    you're right about tech stream. but if you're going to diy, a lot of work is involved all around. the work has to be worth more than paying someone, or else it isn't worth the trouble.
