2010 model V (17") wheels on model III

    I have to agree here based on my own experience as well as reading years of reporting by other PC members who have swapped to lighter wheels.

    In my case the 17 wheels weigh as much as the stock 15s yet my MPG still tanked to the tune of 6mpg despite LRR tires. I think this is GenII specific though as the GenIII with it's greater HP and torque do not seem to be as negatively affected. I would say get the wheel you like the best and if they are lightweight then all the better but make sure you chose a LRR tire or at least one with a high treadwear/warranty rating. Sticky performance tires are no good for the Prius.
