Picked up a 2010 Blizzard Pearl Prius V with Nav for $28100 (includes the $1k down payment assist) last week with the 36 month 0% APR financing deal. MSRP was $31730.

    Seemed like a decent deal.

    Enjoying the car so far.

This serms like a great deal considering a dealership near me gave me a price of $27.5k for a blizzard III with solar. What dealership did you go through?

California may have down payment assistance but we don't have 0% for 60 months financing like some of the other regions. I prefer that over CA's incentives.

Walnut Creek Toyota. Like others on the forum have said, I just emailed a bunch of dealers in my area to get their price on the model I wanted and went from there. After I bought the car, I actually got an even better offer from Fremont Toyota, by $200, but oh well.

Its a buyer's market out there. I didn't spend too much time haggling so I'm sure a better deal can be had.

That is not true. It has 0% for 36months and the 1000.00 down payment assistance offer by Toyota.
I got both incentives last week with my 2010 Prius II. Try enter zip code 94087 on the local special in Toyotal.com for Prius.

I know there's 0% for 36 months but the 0% for 60 months offered in other regions is a big difference in monthly payments. $1,000 knocks off what? $40? I guess it all depends on how soon you want to pay off the car versus how much you want your monthly to be.

I have Prius 2 that I just picked up. I paid $ 20004 for the car and $295 for the doc fees for an out the door price of $ 20299. I paid tax separately when I registered it in Ct. It came with Floor mats and cargo cover.

    "$1,000 knocks off what?"
Simply means $1000.00 discount of the car purchase price or the principal of your car loan is reduced by 1000.00.
If you are looking for a reduce monthly payment amount (3/5 in this case vs the 3yr loan), you are right since you spread it out in longer payments. For California, Toyota offer 1.9%, 60month loan.
If we are compare the same loan (0% for 3 years) terms, Toyota is giving Californian an additional 1000.00 off the price vs the other regions. I take the 1000.00 principal discount any day.

    Hi All,

I'm planing to buy a Prius III by the end of this month and needed some pointers as to which price to start negotiating for the car and what is a reasonable price to buy for the car.

Currently Toyota website lists $23,800 as MSRP but most of the dealers advertize something in the range of $26,000 for the car.I will put down $1000 to get advantage of Toyota's down payment assist. I am not looking to add on any packages or features as of now.

I would really appreciate help as to what is a good price to pay for the car before the down payment assist and tax and registration.

Also, since I have never bought a car from a dealer what is the best way to negotiate the price over phone, mail???

    Thank You

    SD

Thanks to this group, I got an idea of prices other people are getting and I got nice deal I think in metro Atlanta.

I got Prius II Black exterior + Leather addition and it costed me 23,000$ on the road. Pls let me know if someone is interested to get this price as I was able to get this from only 1 dealer and no one was ready to match it.

Let me know guys how did I do with price?
