reading few other posts with these code (change rear wheel hubs),fuel pump issue ,check orange plug
Im getting these codes after hybrid battery is replaced (green bean warranty)
before this the engine had to be replaced and no issues with breaks or 12v battery (checked good test)

the p0a080 refuses to go away even after a new one is put in but this time check hybrid system comes up

after driving safe to local store used their obd reader to reset fault codes and all back to normal didnot drive few days ,after driving another 10 miles ,two days apart few days later again got check hybrid system ,this time used self obd as i got it delivered

used panlong obd2 only get p0a080 on torque lite app and did a reset
    check hybrid system is gone

will see if get another time and it goes away with clear codes ,there could be some other abs issue ?

the tech who replaced battery said ok to leave the brown plug out ,dont know what that is but the orange plug looks firm ,maybe i should remove and put it back to check if that makes a difference

    P0a080
    c1259

if the orange plug isn't installed correctly, the car won't start.

idk what the brown plug is, but why would he leave it out?

if you're getting P0A80, maybe the replacement is bad

you might need tech stream for the proper codes and sub codes

The HV Battery code is a Permanent code and will need to just be driven and the code will go away on its own.

Might take 1k miles or so.

The other two codes will need to be figured out and will have an impact on charging the HV battery.

It's pretty common knowledge here (but still needs the word spread to the new folks) that C1259 and C1310 are simply codes that the skid control ECU sets when it has been told there are trouble codes in the power management control ECU. So literally all those two codes mean is "never mind us, go find out what the trouble codes in the power management control ECU are."

So anything you read about what different people did to "fix" C1259 or C1310 codes will be coming from people who never quite understood what those codes meant. The reason different things "fixed" those codes was just that those people had different problems to start with, which could be identified by the real trouble codes in the power management control ECU.

So the key thing you need to investigate here is the P0A80 code you are getting from the power management control ECU, and why that hasn't gone away with your battery replacement. The C1259 and C1310 are only shown because of that.

    update
got check hybrid system two more times 10 to 60 miles random and both times clear codes back to normal
reading from panlong obd2 only seeing past old saved code P0a080
(hybrid battery already replaced and is ok)
maybe next time should go to better reader mechanic
dont know when it would go again check hybrid system (random )

You say the traction battery is ok.

    P0A80 says it isn't.

Need to find out who's right.

Can you take a picture of the dash lights?

The other two codes are preventing the HV battery from charging, so any new battery will drain.

Remember the permanent code for the hybrid battery will go away after 1k miles or so.

I had the same codes and once I changed the rear wheel hubs with speed sensors the battery was able to charge again and then eventually the permanent code went away.

You should look into a Carista OBD adapter and then download the free app Dr. Prius.

What the C1259 and C1310 codes mean is explained in the repair manual (and repeated in #4). What post hoc ergo propter hoc means is explained here.

used another app and got different codes ,yesterday when at autozon code reader still only get p0a80 but not these new codes
car starts ok and all good ,the check hybrid system message may show up again driving 10miles to 50miles dont know when next time

new codes after start car and using car scanner elm app
    from another post

    >>U0155 =>means nothing ?
    >>B2784 is on a different topic, the connection between the Smart Key certification ECU and the key transponder built into the power switch. There are three pages in the repair manual to help troubleshoot that.

It means whichever ECU reported that code can't communicate with the instrument cluster combination meter.

The ECUs that can report a U0155 are the power management control ECU, the main body ECU, the certification ECU (smart key), and the air conditioning amplifier.

Not every code scanning app shows which ECU the code was reported by. I see that your Car Scanner app does, which is a plus for that app in my book. It shows "ECU: Entry & start / Smart key" for your U0155, so probably that was the certification ECU.

Edit: yeah, it was, because Car Scanner shows the same "ECU: Entry & start / Smart key" for the B2784 code, and the certification ECU is the one that reports that code.

Could somebody have bumped the connectors plugged into your certification ECU? One ECU is suddenly saying both "hey! where's the combination meter?" and "hey! where's my antenna coil?"

The place to look is the Repair Manual (more info). Some people manage to find already-assembled PDFs of that; if you do, it's a lot more convenient than searching for individual bits and pieces when you need them.

There are some members here who might send a relevant section if they see your post.

If your browser has saved a certificate for a website using HSTS, and the site changes certs and you're sure nothing nefarious is involved, there's usually a way in the browser to forget the old cert.

More likely wiring, less likely need to open any ECU.

Diagnosing communication errors can be fiddly. Best advice, get access to repair manual, find sections for those trouble codes, follow the troubleshooting steps given there.
