    Hello,

I purchased a 2010 Red Prius with 26K miles in 2013. Now it's at 75K and paid off!

Haven't done a lot to it, but am thinking doing some upgrades...Some of the things I'm considering are:

    1. Tint the windows
    2. Replace OEM radio
    3. Fix the crack on the front bumper (see attached)
    4. Detail the car
    5. Other?

I'm looking to add something that would be useful, fun and add value to a depreciating asset.

    Thoughts?

I added fog lights, Weather Tech mats, Toyota rear cargo mat and rear cargo net, and console insert to my 2011 Four. All made it more livable and enjoyable.

Stereo upgrade was one of the first things I did to my Prius III, got a Pioneer DVD player for BT music streaming + installed backup camera... Fog lights were second...
However, I'd fix that cracked bumper first.

I live in SoCal, so tinting my Windows was a first priority. I did it as soon (bought it new) as I drove it off the dealer lot. It was the best investment I ever made. Keeping the temperatures down in the cabin is pretty important with a Prius. I bought the best tinting available and it's remarkable how well it aids in reducing the interior temperature. The A/C works half as hard and it can cool the interior in +100 degree to the point of too cold. I can run it at 74-75 degrees and stay comfortable.

I am trying to pay off my wife's 2013 Prius early. Hoping in the next few months to be all done.

Hey thanks, just curious as to why the bumper first...Is there more to that crack than cosmetic? Will it reduce the value of the car?

With the low low interest rate of 0% on my 2012, I'm stretching that loan as long as Toyota will allow me. Unfortunately, that means October of this year, she'll be free and clear. The first thing I did was tint my Prius.

The bumper? Take a gander at the hole in my front passenger bumper. It came in handy when I accidentally dropped a bolt into the engine. :ROFLMAO:

Just paid my 2012 off last month. She's got less than 45,000 mile so I'll probably keep it until the cows come home. Five years goes by so quick.

We finally get some pics from the March meet up:)!

It's too bad about your front bumper finding a loose ladder on the freeway:(. Now if @bisco could show off his duct tape handy skills, you might get an insight into fixing your opening:whistle:.

Our 2010 Prius II is next to @mmmodem 's PIP in the first pic and we have had it paid off for over 4 years now. The only thing I have done to it in the 8 years we have owned it are changed the gear indicator with a Nimbus mount and added vent shades.

The savings from owning our Prius gets set aside and put toward other of life's expenses.

At 158 k miles, there is still plenty of life left in our Prius, so I will be driving it 'til the wheels fall off(y).

Nice pics, you need a bigger purple towel

Harbor freight has moving blankets for $3.99, that should work better for you

Wish I had 0% interest. We bought her car after leasing for 3 years so we aren't at 0.

I just paid off my 2011 Prius I bought used back in November. It was with a rebate check from the dealer where I bought my wife's 2017 Dodge Grand Caravan with a 7 year, $38,0000 loan.

I paid off my 2014 a few months ago. I too had the zero percent financing but have a job that is like Skylab. Figure if something happens it would be easier without a car payment.

Even with 0 percent, I never like being "in the hole". The only thing we've ever "bought on time" is our house, and got out of that loan asap. For cars, always cash on the barrel: want wheels, not debt.
