I have a 2010 that has been sitting for a couple of years. I have a new 12v battery and the hybrid battery was replaced with a reman about three years ago. I have replaced all the key fob batteries also. The electric door locks do not work, none of the dash electrical instruments come on. I have the 12v battery fully charged. The reason it has sat so long is the engine blew a head gasket and it has over 250k on it.

Is there a way to charge the hybrid battery?

You can purchase the Prolong battery charger. About $300, if you get the whole kit, about $650.
You can go to their page for prices.

You may need to clean the posts and cables connectors for the battery. Which if you have a new fully charged
battery, you probably already did that. And since it sat for so long, check for critters...

The Prolong Charger is the best solution for charging the Hybrid battery but if none of the 12 volt accessories work (door locks, dome light, etc.) there is a 12 volt issue that needs to be addressed first. Did you try jump starting it at one time? There is a big fuse that may have blown. What is the voltage at the jump point under the hood?

There is no correlation between the hybrid battery and the electronics.

You need to figure out why 12 volts isn’t getting from the battery to the ecu’s and relays

Do you have any accessories that come on? I.E., headlights, dome lights, etc.?

I'd hazard to guess that the used 3 year old HV battery is dead-dead and would not suggest getting a grid charger right off the bat.

This car requires a lot money and effort to get RELIABLY rolling again and considering the mileage will never be worth any reasonable amount. Sell 4 parts.

Troubleshooting & replacing the 12 volt battery s not a specialist job.
If the traction battery needs charging the dealer would need to get a charger from Toyota Corporate.
As far as the engine is concerned, many people have had good experiences replacing the engine with one from a wreck.

If that head gasket still needs to be addressed, then this is nothing but a can of worms.
You will be dealing with one thing after the other.....as you already are seeing.

I’m working out of state right now but thank you for all the information. I’ll check the big fuse under the hood when I get back home.
