You’ll need to find a “home” for your car, for at least a day; maybe local garage, obviously with AC power. Maybe a PepBoys or similar, preferably one with compatible replacement batteries for sale and electronic load tester.

Try charging first (could take 12 hours), and (presuming the charger can successfully run through a charging cycle).

Then get the electronic load test done, verify it’s still got “life”.

    If not, replace.

All of that might be too cumbersome in your scenario: go straight to replacement?

Your best purchase right now might be a set of jumper cables. With a Good Samaritan or two you’ll be able to get it started, get to a retailer that has the battery you need. Phone ahead.

the op’ster has another thread saying he got the cel code to replace hybrid battery so your great tip alone may not resolve his issue, I mean issues. He’s got other threads with different issues. Wish I can get attention like that

Info we didn't have before. The hybrid battery starts the engine, and runs all the 12v item and charges
    the 12V.
Seems like you have have more serious issues then the 12v battery.
Maybe the inverter has failed??? I believe you'll need someone weith hybrid experience to look at it.
I know you probably don't have the money, and I don't know how to help you, sorry.

The battery is fine. I just had it double checked and charged at the Walmart who’s parking lot I’ve been sleeping in the past 5 days. It’s definitely something with the hybrid engine. I have 3 cells on the way to LA from JWAP. My friend is driving two hours into the desert to pick me up with triple AAA he’s on his way. I have a driveway I could do the repair in LA this week

No way! I actually like this, it’s like watching the tv show “Lost” which we re taken from one story line to another. There’s 13 different story lines going on at the same time, and then it commercials.

Goddamn it that auto swipe type function fookin sucks on iPhone. Earlier it was using my “pets” as leverage now my friend picking me up from the desert was “smart”. Anyways he took a day trip to the desert 2hrs away to pick me up and use his AAA membership to tow me 117 miles seriously a smart legend. Even helped me move stuff around my storage locker. I’m floored by how incredibly helpful some people can be. It’s inspiring man it makes me wanna be a better person and succeed in life so I could give back

edit: woahh it autocorrected fookin to smart again why is it doing that??

I just found this thread two years on. Correlation is not causation: the fact that the 12v battery is dead has nothing to do with the fact that the metal key doesn't open the driver door. The only reason they even appear to be correlated is that people try to open the drivers door with the key when the battery has died. AAA pried open my door, I charged the battery, and yet the key still doesn't work. I suspect ASRDogman has the answer.

I have same problem but my key worked before. I am calling unlock people They are charging 150 to open the door.
I am mad. I was always thinking physical key will open. It seems it needs some battery

So it is not turning? Are you sure it is the correct key? Have you ever used it
    to make sure it worked?
Try spraying some wd-40 or other lube in it to hopefully free it up...

Its turning clockwise and anticlockwise. It seems like you still need battery for it to work. fob may not work with low battery but for key to work it seems it need battery. You still some voltage on battery for it to work it seems.

Because a month ago i opened with same key without any effort.

At first i was able to open half way and get stuck. Should have used metal hanger i pushed it back thought that will help. Now i cant even get that half and probably used last ounce of battery

you don't need the battery when using the key. It's for when the battery dies.
Something has come loose in the door that is not allowing it to unlock the door.
