WHAT- 2010 Tightening Down Loose Rear Horizontal Stabilizer
    HOW-

    1. REMOVE TRUNK DOOR INTERIOR PANELING. Use plastic pry tool to remove at least up to 2x parts of the trunk door paneling. Plastic pry tool over a metal screw driver, helps to avert paint damage. Here is where I found 2x loose bolt nuts loosely bouncing around within the paneling.

    2. TIGHTEN DOWN BOLTS. The missing bolt-nuts were obvious upon visual inspection. I hand tightened them down with a 10mm socket tool. Seems the nuts feel loose over natural wear and tear of 236,000 miles. For good measure and preventive maintenance, I tightened down all the 10mm nuts on the rear door.

    3. CLEAN DOWN. While under the paneling I cleaned down all the metal and plastic paneling with alcohol wipies for good preventive maintenance.

    4. BUTTON UP IN REVERSE.

    5. Whoala.

R2, that stabilizer’s broken loose again. See if you can lock it down!
