Speedometer cluster goes blank. Windshield wipers stop working. Temperature idiot light comes on for a split second and the check engine light. Eventually engine light goes away and happens all over again.

And then you get something at advance Auto like a Innova brand scanner that will get your basic codes which you will have and can read your ABS codes It may not be TEC stream but it can get you through the basics. You will need some of the basic codes that are probably stored in your system just to get started then if things get really complicated you may need TEC stream.

I did get a code and it is P261b which is the water pump. Temp light goes on for a sec. Not continuous which gives me the check engine light. After a bit, engine light turns off. Windshield wipers and speedometer screen go out until I slap the top of my dash.

Be careful how much driving you do with a P261B code. According to the repair manual, when the ECM sets that code (which means the water pump is doing less than 900 rpm when it should be doing more), the ECM reacts by telling the pump to stop for 30 seconds, run at 85% for five seconds, stop for 30 seconds, and so on.

It's as if the ECM is trying to jolt the pump past some kind of mechanical sticky spot. But all that five seconds on, 30 seconds off business might not cool the engine very well.

(In that table straight from the repair manual, "P216B" is a typo. Those three water pump codes are P261B, C, and D.)

Also, when that code is present, if your coolant ever heats up to 105℃, the engine will get shut down on the spot, and you'll have nothing but battery power to get off to the side of the road.

Yes, I saw this. So I guess I will start with changing the pump out to be safe and then work on the rest.

Changed water pump. I think it was bad. It didn’t spin like the new. So, I still have the issue of the speedometer display and the windshield wipers working. They all come back with a slap of the dashboard. I think it may be a circuit board issue. Just trying to find out which one and which connection

What was the miles on the car, and that was the original pump?
