Looking to buy a 2011 Prius 2 with 200,000 miles. One owner, no accident , good shape for 5000. Is that a good deal? Any concerns ?
    Thanks

    welcome!
sounds high to me, but prices are geographic. check kbb.com

lots of issues on the gen 3, but getting to 200k might be a good sign :p

scan through the maintenance and troubleshooting forum for a feel of all the expensive systems, and the technical knowledge needed to mitigate the expensive repairs through diy.

    all the best!

Sadly, if this was a typical, bring-it-to-the-dealership-regularly owner, it might have a very clogged intake manifold and EGR system, and a PCV system that has turned the bottom of the intake into a oil/water swill swimming pool.

This can be remedied, by a proactive owner, but by 200K miles, if nothing's been done, I'd stay away. With that amount of miles and no remedies, the head gasket could be nearing failure, and/or it's an oil burner.

I sold our 2010 earlier this year with 300k miles on it for $4500;).

And I did a lot of preventative maintenance to it:).

So I’d vote for its high, but if the owner is willing to dicker, might be a good buy(y).

    Hi Ray, greetings from Germany.
In what condition was the traction battery after so many miles? What kind of milage were you getting before you sold it?

    The battery was fine:).

But I used the Prolong equipment to recondition it;).

I was at ~50 mpg at sale time (y).

I’m picking up a 2010 Prius II with 212K mikes for $4500 next week. Depending on your location, that price doesn’t sound bad.

Currently have a 2011 Prius with 160k on it and drives beautifully no issues so I have no worries it will make it to 200k. I’m on original hybrid battery and little to no maintenance other than oil changes and tire rotations..price seems ok tho I believe mine was quoted lower with less miles? Either way, good luck it is a great car!
