Is this the used transmission? They should give you at least a 30-60 day warranty...

Really weird this is locked up. Maybe the oil pump didn't work?

Interesting note. I found just about 0 metal in oil that came out. Really weird I say.

Well, take it back. It's a pain to do all that work, again.....
Oh, did you check the clutch disc? Check the springs and make sure the are not broken.

Disk looked good to me. I replaced it last time I rebuilt the engine.
Looks fine but maybe I don't know what to look for. Springs are intact. I didn't have any pieces fall out taking it apart or nothing. Will look close tomorrow tho.

Might want to share this. There seems to be 2 different exhaust systems for the 2011 Prius. Unknown why they used 2 different flanges on these but they did.
The exhaust that has coolant going to it uses a dual plane donut gasket connecting the manifold to the catalytic converter.
The other has a single plane.
Using the single plane donut doesn't engage the catalytic converter flange enough to make a good seal.
This seems to be my exhaust leak problem.
I'll try to remember to take some photos of what happens if you use wrong donut.

The exhaust without coolant heat recovery was maybe sold in Europe, due to different reg's? Yeah, any time you have two different interface styles, you're asking for trouble.

And yet I got a 3rd donut for this year of Prius. Obviously it is not for my exhaust.
I'll have to post pictures it's really weird having 3 completely different donuts assigned to a single year of a vehicle.

I actually ordered all variants of the donut so I've found 3 distinctive different types.

This is original. It has a dent in it. I suppose that's the reason it leaked.
Showing the profile. Notice there is 2 planes 1 on an angle one more straight up and down. IMG20221213144200.jpeg

This is I believe not sure tho a felpro note it's one angle and flange marks are not very deep into the surface. Probably why it was leaking not engaging the flange well enough.
So sad I usually like felpro

This is way too big it's a walker 31379
I think it's for the non coolant exhaust system.
ID is too small to go over the manifold. It's also much bigger in all the other ways.

This looks correct angles and size. Mahle 31662. Second pic has original along side. Can surely tell the flange engaged just about all of the angle plane. So bingo there is my exhaust leak problem.
Now I just have to get a transmission and put it all back together. IMG20221213144334.jpeg IMG20221213144403.jpeg

I have been wondering what did this to this transmission I keep on coming back to the oil pump I put 3,000 mi on this before it locked up If the oil pump didn't work I would think maybe 500 to a thousand miles. I could be very wrong since I have no experience with this particular type of transmission.

I just looked at four transmissions All of them were locked up the same way. Junk yards are not putting the caps on right away to block off to humid Florida air must be rusted.
    So no love yet.

Total of 7 transmissions I looked at today. 6 I couldn't turn the input shafts and one turned but had a hard spot in the rotation.
    None of them I trusted.
All the ones that didn't turn were stored in humid Florida with no driveshaft caps on them. Is it possible they are frozen with rust.
The one that turned was shrink wrapped but didn't trust the hard to turn spot.
    So nothing was bought today.
I stopped at the dealer because my driver wanted to ask some questions and look around.
For jokes I inquired about a new transmission. I didn't think it would be available. Oh but yes it is $3100.00 which I will be buying after I move some money around.

Have you searched for a remanufactured transmission?
    Here are a few:
